
On August 27, Boeing (NYSE:BA) delayed delivery of the Dreamliner again due to problems with an engine made by Rolls Royce. Japan's All Nippon Airways will take delivery of the first Dreamliner in the middle of the first quarter of 2011.
The list price for the planes is around $3.19 billion, but it is unlikely Air China (HK:0753) paid that price because Boeing (NYSE:BA) granted the airline "significant concessions." The actual purchase price was not disclosed by either company.
China's airline carriers ordered a total of 60 Boeing 787s, each priced at about $200 million, according to the People's Daily Online. The plane can fly 200-300 passengers. China Southern (NYSE:ZNH) has ordered 10 Dreamliners.
